About Your Instructor

David Aeschliman grew up on a northeast Kansas diversified livestock and grain farm. At a young age, his father took over the management of a livestock auction barn, where David grew fascinated with the entire process of selling merchandise, including livestock, through the auction process.

David graduated from Kansas State University and entered the marketing industry, where he grew his own company to $14 million in sales before selling it and retiring at age 54.

Quickly growing bored with retirement, David started Walnut Creek Auction Company, named after his farm in Illinois. He has contracted business liquidations, fund raisers, real estate sales to household sales of every type to antique sales to gun sales to even a massive closeout of a rock store that attracted more than 300 people from 19 states for a 2-day auction.

David opened Walnut Creek Auction College in 2020, where he fills a huge gap left by other auction colleges…that is the comprehensive knowledge needed to run a successful company, make great money and have a ball throughout your career.

You’ll enjoy David’s quick wit, extensive knowledge and great relationship skills as you find a permanent mentor in your chosen profession of becoming an auctioneer.

David lives outside of Sherrard, IL on 27 acres of timber ground in a log home he built with his wife, Becky. He offers his auction education courses near the airport in Moline, IL.
